Fixing device (36) comprises an oscillating decoupler (46) arranged between a filter exhaust gas silencer (16) and the housing part (32) of a compressor so that it oscillates with a different frequency than a turbocharger housing when the silencer is activated. An Independent claim is also included for a turbocharger for charging I.C. engines. Preferred Features: The decoupler is a rubber-elastic element made from an elastomer having good temperature, wear and oil resistance. The decoupler has a low rigidity in the axial direction as well as across the axial direction of the turbocharger. The decoupler is mechanically pre-stressed.
