PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for manufacturing a transfer coil of a rotary electric machine that can shorten the manufacturing work hours of the transfer coil and reduce heavy physical labor work. SOLUTION: The apparatus for manufacturing the transfer coil in the rotary electric machine includes a plurality of transfer sections having a cross-sectional constitution in which two wire stacks having rectangular wires stacked in the thickness direction are arranged in a width direction, transferring the wires and disposed at a plurality of locations at intervals in the longitudinal direction of the wires. There are provided a grip means 15, which can lift half-coils 1A, 1B braided in advance with half of strands required for manufacturing the transfer coil in the up and down directions and incline longitudinally in the coil to an axis, and a rocking means 14, which is provided with the grip means 15 and can be rocked at two different rocking centers.
