PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor in which a protective layer can be swiftly cured, and which has a high primary transfer rate and can obtain a half tone free from image variation and image deletion, to provide an image forming apparatus, to provide a process cartridge, and to provide a color image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: In the electrophotographic photoreceptor in which a photosensitive layer and a protective layer are successively stacked on an electrically conductive support, the protective layer comprises a resin obtained by curing a compound having a curable functional group, a polymerization initiator and an oxidation preventive, and the content of the oxidation preventive is controlled to the content of the polymerization initiator or below.
