PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture an image forming apparatus at low costs by reducing the costs of parts of a scan unit. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a photoreceptor drum 2 forming a latent image of toner to be attached to a recording paper and a scan unit 5 irradiating the photoreceptor drum 2 with a laser beam L. The scan unit 5 includes a scanning part 51 housed in a main housing 50a and performing the scanning with the laser beam L in the main scanning direction and a mirror member 55 housed in a mirror housing 50b, reflecting the laser beam L subjected to scanning by the scanning part 51, and irradiating a surface of the photoreceptor drum 2 therewith. Because the scan unit 5 changes a position of the mirror housing 55b with respect to the main housing 50a to change an optical path of the laser beam L, it can be commonly mounted for the image forming apparatuses of a plurality of different types in which the positional relationship between the scan unit 5 and the photoreceptor drum 2 is different, thereby reducing the cost of parts.
