PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connecting device capable of preventing infiltration of dust and grime from an insertion port, even if one is fitted for a lead terminal to be inserted into and removed from at its side face. SOLUTION: The connecting device is provided with two contacts 100 each for connecting a lead terminal 12 of a cold-cathode fluorescent lamp (an electronic component) 10 and a substrate 20, a body 200 housing the two contacts 100 and equipped with a pair of insertion ports 222 for the lead terminal to be inserted and removed from its side face, a pair of shutters 300 for opening and closing the pair of insertion ports 222 of the body 200, and a pair of operating members 400 fitted to the body 200 for operating the opening and closing of the pair of shutters 300.
