PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide network equipment which is capable of surely and easily setting a parameter for setting regardless of network setting of equipment for setting. SOLUTION: Network equipment 40 which operates in setting and operating modes comprises: a setting parameter memory; a packet receiving unit; a dynamic address generating unit 64 which generates two logic addresses when a logic address assignment request packet 62 is received in the setting mode, redirects one of the addresses to a transmission source (68) and sets the other address to the network equipment (66); an identifier solution unit 74 which transmits (73) the logic address of the network equipment 40 to the transmission source regardless of a name when a name solution request 72 is received in the setting mode; and a parameter setting unit 80 which stores values of parameters (88, 98) which are transmitted from the transmission source 42 using the logic address in a memory after the identifier solution unit 74 transmits the logic address of the network equipment 40 to the transmission source 42 in the setting mode.
