PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excavating device enabling a worker to know the position of an extending blade on the ground without providing a sensor in a part entering an underground part. SOLUTION: This excavating device digging the ground by extending by the extending blade is provided with a cylindrical outer rod 11, a rotary driving device 3 for rotating the outer rod, an inner rod 13 inserted into the outer rod, an inner rod supporting body 17 for supporting an upper end part of the inner rod to rotate it and prevent it from moving vertically, an elevating device 21 for elevating and lowering the inner rod supporting body vertically, and the extending blade projecting from the outer rod and moving between an extension position for digging by extending and a pulling-in position for pulling it into an outer rod side more than the extension position in the interlocking relationship with relative vertical movement of the inner rod for the outer rod.
