PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structurally simple sliding door device with a self-closing function which can enhance the whole beauty by having almost the same entrance design on an inspection side (indoor side) and a fixing side (outdoor side). SOLUTION: An inspection-side decorative protrusion 73 and a fixing-side decorative protrusion 193 are formed at the lower end of an inspection-side rammer substrate panel 7 and that of a fixing-side rammer substrate panel 19 in such a shape that lower end surfaces can be almost flush with each other. The decorative protrusion 73 comprises a decorative protrusion 731 and a concealing protrusion 75. In a state that the concealing protrusion 75 is demounted, a rail member, a sliding door, etc. can be mounted to and demounted from the side of an entrance, and a portion for holding the sliding door 6 on the rain member 5 is directed downward. In a state that the rail member 5 and the sliding door 6 are mounted, an operation piece of a braking device 9 can be attached to an inspection-side surface base plate 71 of the substrate panel 7.
