PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method by which a poly-indigo having excellent characteristics such as high strength can efficiently be produced and application even to industrial mass production can be made. SOLUTION: The method for producing the poly-indigo is carried out as follows. An inorganic acid salt of a diglycine compound is neutralized in two stages when an alkali metal salt of the diglycine compound which is a synthetic intermediate is produced.
