PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an asphalt binder showing a good workability, by improving its flow property at an ordinary temperature without reducing its aromatic content. SOLUTION: The asphalt binder comprises solvent-deasphalted asphalt, straight asphalt, blown asphalt, a mixture of two or more of these asphalts, etc., has a composition containing 0.5-20.0 mass% asphalt having an asphaltene content of≤40.0 mass%, 80.0-99.5 mass% petroleum solvent-extracted oil and≥70.0 mass% aromatic content and shows a complex elastic modulus of≤10.0 Pa at 25°C at 0.1 rad/sec.
