PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a colorless transparent resin that exhibits excellent thermal stability and moldability and is excellent in impact resistance, heat resistance, crack resistance and hues, and a molded item and a film comprised of the same. SOLUTION: The resin is constituted of a dihydric phenol residue and/or a dihydric alcohol residue, and a carbonate residue and/or a dibasic carboxylic acid residue and/or a dibasic heteroacid residue, and at least a part of polymer ends is represented by structural formula (1) below.
