PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide antagonistic peptides inhibiting the binding of TGF-β1 to a transformation growth factorβ1(TGF-β1) receptor. SOLUTION: The antagonistic peptides each inhibiting the binding of TGF-β1 to a TGF-β1 receptor is provided, being a TGF-β1-derived peptide, a typeIII receptor-derived peptide and a peptide derived from another protein bindable to TGF-β1, each of which has a specific amino acid sequence. A hepatopathy-curative agent containing any one of the above antagonistic peptides is provided.
