PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position measuring system which easily and accurately measures the position and the direction of an object. SOLUTION: The position measuring system comprises: four LED light sources 1-4 whose mutual positional relationship is clear; an optical lens system 12 that transmits light from each light source and forms a light ring image 11 by spherical aberration; an image sensor 13 for detecting the light ring image 11 formed by the optical lens system 12; and an arithmetic device 14 for measuring the position of each light source, based on the detection information of the light ring image 11 detected by the image sensor 13 and positional relationship between the light sources.
