PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a front fork wherein the axial length of damper cylinder is reduced and the damping property of a damping force generating device is easily reset. SOLUTION: In the front fork, an axle side tube 12 is slidably inserted into a body side tube 11, the axle side tube 12 is mounted at its lower end on an axle bracket 20, the damper cylinder 21 is erected on the lower end side of the axle side tube 12, a piston rod 29 to be inserted into the damper cylinder 21 is supported on the upper end side of the body side tube 11, an oil lock collar 70 is provided on the bottom side of the damper cylinder 21, and an oil lock piece 80 is provided on the front end side of the piston rod 29. The damping force generating device 50 is provided on the axle bracket 20, and the inside of the damper cylinder 21 is connected to communicate with the outside thereof via the damping force generating device 50.
