PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively and surely remove dust of a dust collection means in simplified structure. SOLUTION: This vacuum cleaner includes: a body having an electric blower 12 generating suction air; a dust collection part 18 disposed on the upstream side of suction air of the electric blower 12, and having a primary filter 30 for centrifugally separating coarse dust with a circulating air flow, and a dust collection filter 51 collecting fine dust passing through the primary filter 30; a dust removing means 53 for removing the dust of the dust collection filter 51; and a closing means preventing the influence of the suction air generated by the electric blower 12 affecting on the dust collection filter 51. The dust collection means 51 has a pleated shape, the dust removing means 53 has a projection part, the projection part sequentially strikes the pleat of the dust collection filter 51 and applies vibration thereto to remove the dust of the dust collection filter 51 and, simultaneously with applying the vibration, the closing means closes the suction air. Therefore, this vacuum cleaner has sure dust removal structure of the simplified structure and retains the high suction performance. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
