The leg brace has a shell part (10) for retaining the lower leg and another shell part (12) for retaining the foot. The former shell part and the latter shell part are connected by an orthotic joint (14) such that the shell parts are movable between pes equinus position and a correction position. The shell parts are movable into a correction position, where the lower leg and the foot stands to each other in a normal position. An independent claim is also included for a method for installing leg brace.
