PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an environmental regulatory correspondence type lubricating oil composition which is useful for an internal combustion engine such as gasoline engine, diesel engine, gas engine, etc., has a low ash content, low phosphorus and improved oxidation stability and friction reduction effect. SOLUTION: The lubricating oil composition for internal combustion engine comprises a base oil, (A) at least one kind selected from a disulfide compound represented by general formula (I) R<SP>1</SP>OOC-A<SP>1</SP>-S-S-A<SP>2</SP>-COOR<SP>2</SP>(I) and a disulfide compound represented by general formula (II) R<SP>7</SP>OOC-CR<SP>9</SP>R<SP>10</SP>-CR<SP>11</SP>(COOR<SP>8</SP>)-S-S-CR<SP>16</SP>(COOR<SP>13</SP>)-CR<SP>14</SP>R<SP>15</SP>-COOR<SP>12</SP>(II), (B) an organomolybdenum compound and (C) a phenol-based antioxidant and/or an amine-based antioxidant.
