PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a welding method of high nitrogen steel, which does not generate a splash, is excellent in welding workability, and can provide a welding product of high quality by suppressing a pit or blow hole from generating when performing an overlay welding to the high nitrogen steel. SOLUTION: In the welding method for performing the overlay welding to the surface of the high nitrogen steel using welding material, before the overlay welding, a process for melting the high nitrogen steel is applied to a predetermined spot of the overlay welding on the surface of the high nitrogen steel using a non-consumable electrode to form a denitrification layer, then the overlay welding is performed to the predetermined spot of the deposit welding of the denitrification layer using the welding material.
