PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simplified method for detecting television commercials. SOLUTION: The disclosed method includes steps of receiving a main audio program of a television broadcast; receiving a secondary audio program; converting the main audio program and the secondary audio program into a main audio channel and a secondary audio channel; calculating the similarity value between the main audio channel and the secondary audio channel within a candidate period; and deciding whether the candidate period is the program deviation period, based on the similarity value calculated.
