PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary air supply device capable of suppressing the reverse flow of exhaust gas. SOLUTION: This secondary air supply device 50 comprises an engine 1 in which cylinders #1 to #6 are disposed in each of two banks 10R, 10L and the cylinders in the banks 10R, 10L are alternately ignited at intervals, exhaust passages 11R, 11L through which the exhaust gas from the cylinders flow, air supply passages 51R, 54R, 51L, 54L installed in each of the banks 10R, 10L, communicating with the exhaust passages 11R, 11L of the cylinders #1 to #6 in each of the banks, and supplying a secondary air into the exhaust passages 11R, 11L, and a communication pipe 55 allowing the air supply passages 54R, 54L to communicate with each other. Since the amplitude of the pressure wave of the exhaust gas, the exhaust gas can be suppressed from reversely flowing into the secondary air supply passages 51R, 51L. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
