PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring system for video-recording a plurality of monitor images, and automatically selecting and displaying a monitor image in which presence of abnormality is recognized, at that time. SOLUTION: A monitoring apparatus 10 receives a plurality of monitor data items each containing moving image data shot by cameras 20 installed at a plurality of positions, stores the plurality of received monitor data items, selects at least one of the relevant monitor data items based on evaluation about time changes of the plurality of stored monitor data items, reproduces and displays the moving image data contained in the selected monitor data item.
