PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a locking mechanism capable of conducting automatic unlocking in an emergency case such as a fire by using a fire detector. SOLUTION: The locking mechanism 4 is interposed between an end-section movable frame 6a of an open-close partitioning tool 2 such as a face lattice opening and closing an opening 1 of a building and a fixed frame 3 to which the end-section movable frame 6a abuts, and used for locking the open-close partitioning tool 2 at a closing place. The locking mechanism 4 is composed of an engaging piece 7 fitted to the end-section movable frame 6a, a slidable lever 9 having a piece to be engaged 8 freely engaged and disengaged with and from the engaging piece 7 and slidably supported between the locking place and an unlocking place in the fixed frame 3 and a spring 10 urging the sliding lever 9 at the unlocking place. The locking mechanism 4 is further composed of a locking-place holding rope 11 tensing the sliding lever 9 against the urging force of the spring 10 so as to hold the sliding lever 9 at the locking place and formed of a thermoplastic resin and heaters 13 arranged so as to be brought into contact with the holding rope 11 while being interlocked and fitted to the fire detector K. In the locking mechanism 4, the heaters 13 are operated by a detecting signal detecting heat or smoke by the fire detector K in the emergency case such as the fire, and fusion-cut the locking-place holding rope 11.
