PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conduit construction method as a combination type conduit construction method making the combined use of a jacking method and a shield tunneling method, surely transmitting the thrust of a primary push jack to an excavator in the propulsion construction section and smoothly achieving switching to the shield tunneling method. SOLUTION: The excavator 21 is installed in a starting shaft 1, and the propulsion construction is started by the thrust of the primary push jack 11. A thrust transmitting ring 12, a first ring segment ring 5a and an adapter ring 4 are connected to a jack cylinder 21c of the rear of the excavator 21 provided with a shield jack 27 to start the propulsion construction, and in the starting shaft 1, while sequentially a jacking pipe 3 is added, the propulsion construction is performed. In transition from the propulsion construction to the shield tunneling, the thrust transmission ring 12 is removed, excavation is performed by the excavator 12, the segment 5 is assembled at the back of the jack cylinder 21c, and while reaction force is taken in the segment ring and excavates, shield construction is performed to sequentially assemble segments 5.
