PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide bookbinding equipment which ensures a space for dropping from a gripping means to a booklet delivering means and also increases the number of copies of the booklets loaded on a delivering stage of a booklet holding device, and image forming equipment. SOLUTION: The bookbinding equipment has a paper bundle conveying means wherein a paper bundle held in a paper bundle holding means which positions and holds conveyed paper sheets is gripped by the gripping means and set upright, an adhesive applying means which applies an adhesive to the back part of the paper bundle gripped by the gripping means, a square back molding means which brings cover paper into contact with the back part of the paper bundle coated with the adhesive, sticks the cover paper to the back part and bends the cover paper so as to mold a square back, the booklet delivering means which is positioned below the gripping means and delivers the booklet having the square back molded by the square back molding means, and the booklet holding device which holds the delivered booklet. The booklet delivering means can be raised and lowered by a raising-lowering means between a first position where it receives the booklet from the gripping means and a second position where it transfers the booklet it receives to the booklet holding device.
