An inverter device (11) has a DC/AC inverter section (13) that converts input DC voltage (V H ) into AC voltage (V AC ) with a rectangular wave and outputs the AC voltage (V AC ). A duty cycle setting section (19) sets a duty cycle (t ON /T) for controlling turning on and off of a switching element (Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4) of the DC-AC inverter section (13) by a controller (18). The duty cycle setting section (19) determines the duty cycle (t ON /T) using a signal (Vc) based on the value of the DC voltage (V H ) and a charging curve (G) determined by a CR circuit (29). Accordingly, regardless of changes in the input voltage (V H ), the effective value of the output voltage (V AC ) approximates to a theoretical value compared to the conventional art.
