A method for manufacturing a color filter substrate for an in plane switching LCD is provided to improve productivity by omitting two steps of mask processes and improve luminance by having a colorless filter layer. A method for manufacturing a color filter substrate for an in plane switching LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) comprises the following steps of: forming a black matrix(205) having first to fourth openings(208a,208b,208c,208d) corresponding to RGB(Red, Green and Blue) and colorless sub pixel areas on a substrate(201) where RGB and colorless pixel areas are defined; forming an RGB color filter patterns corresponding to the first to third openings; forming an organic material layer for filling the fourth opening by applying organic material to the front above the RGB and colorless filter patterns(215a,215b,215c,215d)); contacting a soft mold(260) and making the organic material layer to fill first and second recess parts(265,267); irradiating ultraviolet rays in a state when the organic material layer fills the first and second recess parts; forming an overcoat layer(220) for forming a colorless color filter pattern; and contracting and hardening the overcoat layer by performing heat treatment onto the substrate where the overcoat layer is formed. |
