A shock absorber having a variable internal pressure is provided to change an internal pressure according to a compression stroke and a rebound stroke to prevent temporary negative pressure from generating. A shock absorber(100) having a variable internal pressure comprises a piston valve(120), an inner barrel(140) receiving the piston valve therein, and an outer barrel(160) enclosing the inner barrel. A body vale(180) is provided at lower end of the inner barrel and the outer barrel with a joint portion connecting them together. A rod guide is installed on upper end of the inner barrel and the outer barrel and includes a piston rod capable of sliding along the guide. The piston rod is connected to the piston valve therein. The outer barrel is provided at the outside surface thereof with a gas tank(170) in which high pressure gas is charged.
