A frequency converter is provided to allow coexistence of a broadband characteristic in a broadband technology of down/up converters and an imbalance characteristic between in-phase/quadrature. A frequency converter(100) includes a radio frequency signal converting unit converting a real radio frequency signal to a complex radio frequency. A local signal converting unit converts a real local signal to a complex local signal. The complex radio frequency signal and the complex local signal are inputted into a double cross mixer(160). The frequency converter sets up frequency characteristics of the radio frequency signal converting unit and the local signal converting unit with frequency bands different from each other. The radio frequency converting unit includes a polyphase filter(130). The double cross mixer includes a plurality of mixers.
