A digital picture frame using a communication network is provided to decode and convert signals, received from a communication unit, into data in a data processing unit, and display the converted data as an image through a display unit, thereby enabling communication between users sharing the data. A communication unit(120) transceives signals with an external device. A data processing unit(130) decodes signals received from the communication unit to convert the decoded signals into predetermined data. A display unit(160) displays data processed in the data processing unit as an image. An effect generation unit(170) generates uniform effects when the image displayed on the display unit is the same as the image displayed on the external device.
