The device (4) is built into the rear of a motor vehicle, especially an automobile (1), can be moved out of a rest position into an operating position and is provided with rear lights (12,13). In the rest position of the carrying device the rear lights can be stowed in a stowage position in the automobile, whereas the rear lights can be brought into a working position with the carrying device in an operating position.
