A portable display device, e.g. a mobile telephone (100), has a display section (50) for displaying a left screen in the left direction and a right screen in the right direction in a first display area. A viewer can view the left screen when viewing the display (50) from the left side and the right screen when viewing the display (50) from the fight side. Furthermore, the mobile telephone (100) can detect a change of the direction of the display section (50) and switches the display screen. Consequently, when the viewer returns the holding state for viewing the fight screen to the previous state and views the screen from the left side, he/she can view the next left screen. Also, screen data is displayed in a second, different display area so it can be viewed from all directions. |
