OPERATING METHOD OF WASHING MACHINE

A method for operating a washing machine is provided to reduce water consumption and to eliminate protein typed pollutants by early eliminating large-sized pollutants from laundry by rinsing laundry two times before progression of a washing process. A method for operating a washing machine comprises the steps: primarily rinsing laundry and discharging large sized pollutants with water(S130); supplying hot temperature and high pressure of steam into a drum and sterilizing the laundry(S160); eliminating pollutants by hot water including a detergent with the drum rotating(S170); secondarily rinsing the laundry to discharge separated pollutant to the outside of a tub(S180); and dehydrating the laundry to discharge remaining pollutant to the outside of the tub(S190).
