The current supply leads 3, 4 of a filament lamp or discharge tube are threaded through an aperture 5, 6 in an end cap 2 as follows: guide pins 11, 12 are inserted in the cap, brought into proximity to and alignment with the leads, e.g. by using a two-jaw clamp 15 (see Figs. 5, 6, not shown) and then slid over the ends of the leads, and finally the cap is slid over the pin and leads on to the lamp or tube.</p> |
