<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an implant having a superior shape adaptability to a bone defect part and, when applied to the bone defect part, scarcely producing a discomfort on the external appearance adjacent to an application part and to provide a design method for the implant. <P>SOLUTION: This design method for the implant is applied to the skull with a defect part, and provided with a process of preparing three-dimensional data of the skull based on a plurality of tomographic data of the skull, a process of obtaining defect bone shape data by using shape data of a portion symmetrical with the bone defect part of the three-dimensional data regarding the substantially symmetric surface of the three-dimensional data, and a process of correcting the shape of the defect bone shape data using, at least, one of the shape data of the soft part tissue adjacent to the bone defect part and the shape data of the soft tissue of the symmetrical portion adjacent to the bone defect part regarding the symmetrical surface. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
