Insulating construction comprises a pipeline (1) or a container, an insulation (2) arranged around the pipeline or container, a support ring (4) arranged around the insulation and having guides (3), and spacers (5) inserted into the guides and extending from the support ring up to the pipeline or container. - Independent claims are also included for the following: - (1) Support ring element used in the construction; - (2) Spacer element used in the construction; - (3) Fixing device comprising a supporting ring element and spacer elements; and - (4) Process for the production of an insulating construction. - Preferred Features: The spacers lie with one end on the pipeline or container without being fixed. The support ring has at least two segments.
