An apparatus and a method for receiving/positioning a read/write head into a disk in a test apparatus are provided to improve precision of positioning by using an acquisition device for picking up and down a head. An apparatus for receiving/positioning a read/write head into a disk in a test apparatus comprises a deck, a spindle, a holding part, precisors(40,50), and an acquisition device(6). The spindle is mounted on the deck to rotate a disc. The holding part moves on the surface of the deck to maintain a head during a test. The precisors move on the surface of the deck to arrange the head precisely. The acquisition device picks up and down the head. The precisors and the holding part are movable to the position where the head is picked up and down by the acquisition device.
