Vehicle seat with four bar linkage defined by the seat back, the seat cushion, a front pivot link and the vehicle floor

A multi-function vehicular seat 10 includes a seat cushion 14 and a seat back 18 which are connected by a pivot 58. A lockable rotatable mounting link 22 supports the front portion 14a of the seat cushion 14 whilst a lockable longitudinally slideable pivot mount 40 is connected to a lower portion 18b of the seat back 18. The lower portion 18b of the seat back 18 functions as a link between the longitudinally slideable pivot mount 40 and the seat cushion 14. The seat 10 functions as a four bar linkage to allow not only translational repositioning of the seat 10 [see Fig. 2] but also a fold flat function [see Fig. 3], a recliner function [see Fig. 5] and forward translational and rotational folding sufficient to allow ingress and egress to and from a position behind the seat 10 [see Fig. 4].
