A method of manufacturing a component (100,200) of a respiratory apparatus is disclosed in which one or more elements (10,20,110,120,210,220) of the component (100,200) are moulded in a first material, at least one of which including a port (25,125) that enables access to gas within the component (100,200), during use. A second material (50,150) is then injection moulded onto the external surface of one of the elements (10,110,210), the second material (50,150) including an integral closure (52,152) for the port (25,125). If there are first and second elements formed of the first material, at least part of the elements is translucent and the elements are fixed together with an adhesive. The second material is opaque and at least partially hides the adhesive. A two-shot infection moulding technique may be used. The elements may include raised formations in the form of indicia. A filter may be incorporated in the component. The material 150 may be an elastomeric band. |
