A secondary battery is provided to measure the temperature of the battery cells of a secondary battery simply by using a piece of optical fiber, thereby reducing the size and weight of a secondary battery. A secondary battery comprises a plurality of battery cells(100, 200, 300) which are connected electrically one another; and a cell temperature sensing unit which is provided with an optical fiber(410) having a plurality of fiber Bragg grating(FBG) sensors(411) to sense the temperature of the each cell. Preferably the optical fiber is connected with the each battery cell so as to allow the plurality of PEG sensors to be installed at the cell main body temperature measuring position at the surrounding of the positive electrode taps(120, 220, 320) and the negative electrode taps(130, 230, 330) of the each battery cell. |
