Class 98(2) [Also in Group VIII] A method and apparatus for coating a strip of material (see Group VIII) is employed in Example 7 for applying a thin gelatin anti-abrasion coating over a set but still wet gelatin emulsion layer on a films support at high speeds which prevent remelting; in example 8 for applying- a gelatin-silver halide photosensitive emulsion of a cine-positive type to a dry, subbed cellulose acetate support and for overcoating this layer when dried with a highspeed cine-negative type gelatin-silver halide emulsion; in example 13 for applying to a dry, subbed safety support a gelatin-silver halide coloursensitive emulsion comprising silver halides dispersed in an aqueous gelatin solution to which is added a coupler; and in example 14 for applying to the dried coating of example 13 a solution in aqueous gelatin of a dye having the chosen light absorption and a spreading agent to form a lightscreening coating which, when dried. is overcoated with a gelatin-silver halide emulsion sensitive to another part of the visible spectrum. |
