729,787. Plant propagator. ATKINSON, J. Dec. 23, 1953 [Dec. 27, 1952], No. 32810/52. Class 6 (2). A propagator for plants comprises a box-like structure having end members held apart in spaced relationship by longitudinal elements extending inside the structure, transparent or translucent front and rear walls and roof being supported removably by the end members. The end members may consist of metal corner pieces 1 connected by a panel 2 of approximately half the height of the corner pieces and provided with a bent-down edge to constitute means for lifting the box. The end members are connected together by rods or tubes 4 arranged preferably at two or more levels to provide supports for seed boxes. Angle members 6 are secured adjacent the corner pieces 1 by the rods or tubes 4 and form, with the corner pieces slots for the accommodation of glass or other transparent or translucent panels 8, 9. Metal strips 10, having flanges 11 to support the top panels 12, are held in place behind the panels 8, 9. The corner pieces may be formed of.aluminium extruded in the form shown in Fig. 4, in which case the panel 2 may be formed separately and mounted in the slots Heating and lighting arrangements may be provided.
