A gas controller and a method for controlling gas supply using the same are provided to prevent unnecessary gas blocking due to a call of another person without blocking gas supply by counting operating time of a gas range. A gas controller includes a ringer signal detecting unit(11), a ring counting unit(13), a rectifying unit(21), a hook control unit(23), a power control unit(33), an ignition sensing unit(40), a blocking time setting unit(50), an input/output unit(60), an LED unit(70), an alarm unit(80), a storing unit(90), and a control unit(120). The ringer signal detecting unit is connected to telephone lines(L1,L2) and detects a ringer signal from the telephone lines. The ring counting unit counts ring frequency of the ringer signal detected at the ringer signal detecting unit. The rectifying unit rectifies an AC voltage into a DC voltage. The hook control unit controls off(on) hook into on(off) hook according to a hook control signal of the control unit. The power control unit supplies power of a power unit(31) to each component when being normally operated and supplies the DC voltage rectified at the rectifying unit to the control unit when receiving a gas leakage signal. The ignition sensing unit senses an ignition state of a gas range(4). The blocking time setting unit sets using time of the gas range, The input/output unit provides an electrical interface with an external device. The LED unit displays an operating state. The alarm unit outputs alarm sound at the time of gas leakage. The storing unit stores a program for gas control operation, the ring frequency, operating time of the gas range, and telephone number information for informing the gas leakage. The control unit controls an intermediate valve open/close apparatus(3) according to setting of the valve open/close switch unit and the blocking time setting unit. |
