A fusion memory device and a method thereof are provided to improve memory storing efficiency by compressing and storing binary data, and to store various kinds of binary data by accessing an interface of a system area as a NOR and a NAND interface modes. A fusion memory comprises a main memory, a preliminary memory and a memory control unit. The main memory(130) stores compressed data. The preliminary memory(120) buffers data which is read or written in the main memory. A memory control unit(110) including a compressor and a decompressor buffers data which is downloaded during write mode into the preliminary memory, and records the buffered data in the main memory by compressing the buffered data through the compressor, and reads the data stored in the main memory to buffer the data into the preliminary memory during read mode, and restores the buffered data through the de-compressor.
