PREPARATION METHOD OF TRIETHYLENE TETRAMINE DIHYDROCHLORIDE

A method for preparing triethylenetetramineÀ2HCl for medical use is provided to simplify the manufacturing process, to increase the production yield and to reduce the reaction time. A method for preparing triethylenetetramineÀ2HCl for medical use comprises the steps of diluting triethylenetetramine (trientine) in an alcohol and cooling it, adding HCl to the obtained solution drop by drop to react it at a room temperature for 0.5-2 hours, removing the solvent, adding isopropanol to the residue for azeotropic distillation, and adding a crystallization solvent to the obtained azeotropic mixture to crystallize it; and suspending the obtained trientineÀHCl in an alcohol to reflux it for 0.5-1 hour, filtering the insoluble part, cooling the residue, and crystallizing it to prepare triethylenetetramineÀ2HCl represented by the formula 1 (See the Reaction Scheme 1).
