A hydraulic balance device of an automatic transmission is provided to reduce a total length of the automatic transmission by changing a shape of a clutch piston. A clutch retainer(2) includes a central protrusion(2a) which is protruded along a circumferential direction at a position apart from a center thereof. A clutch piston(8) includes a groove(8a) which is formed to receive the central protrusion of the clutch retainer in order to maintain an airtight state. A protrusion(8b) is formed along a circumferential direction opposite to the groove. A piston oil pressure room(6) is formed between the clutch retainer and the clutch piston. A balance piston(12) is mounted to form an oil pressure room in the inside of the clutch piston. A clutch return spring(14) is installed between the clutch piston and the balance piston. |
