A backlight assembly and a liquid crystal display device having the same are provided to combine first and second containers by metal combining parts and to form holes, combined with the hooks of the containers, at the parts for preventing parts of the containers from falling down, thereby enabling the impurities to be removed. A backlight assembly(140) comprises a lamp assembly(143), and first and second containers(160,150). The first receiving container, made of metal, receives the lamp assembly. The second receiving container, made of plastic, is formed at the side wall corresponding to the first container. The containers are combined by metal combining parts(170). The first and second containers include hooks(152a). The metal combining parts include holes(171,172,173) combined with the hooks. The metal combining parts and the containers are slid and combined. A liquid crystal display device includes the backlight assembly and a liquid crystal panel(130) displaying image information. Thereby, the containers are prevented from falling down. |
