A digital device capable of image recognition, a recognition method thereof, and an additional service providing method using the same are provided to recognize objects such as a specific product or a brand from an image generated by a camera or the like, and supply a user with information about the product and information about a shop selling the products based on the recognized products and brand. An image generating unit(101) generates predetermined image data. A storage medium(107) store predetermined object information. An object detector(131,133) divides an image, corresponding to the image data transmitted from the image generating unit, into object images of a closed curve unit formed by an edge on the image. An object recognizing unit(140,150) compares a result, of performing the contour closed curve feature points extraction and affine transform of the divided object images transmitted from the object detector, with object information of the storage medium to recognize the object. |
