摘要 <p>An apparatus and a method for allocating frequency in an OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) multi-cell communication system are provided to divide each cell within a cell cluster into an interference region and a non-interference region, allocate available frequency orthogonal tones to each region so that the available frequency orthogonal tones are not duplicated or allocate at least one different available frequency orthogonal tone to the each region within the each cell. An OFDM scheduler(100) sets m available frequency orthogonal tones and sets n cells, wherein n is more than 2, as one cell cluster. A DB(104) stores data for dividing one cell into a region with weak interference from other cells and a region with strong interference from the other cells. A tone allocator(102) allocates the m available frequency orthogonal tones to each cell. A beam setter(106) sets the intensity of beam to be transmitted by region. A directional antenna controller(108) controls a directional antenna to allocate a corresponding available frequency orthogonal tone to subscriber terminals within a region. A feedback module(110) checks the abnormality of each available frequency orthogonal tone.</p>
