FILTER HAVING A LOW DENSITY PARTS FOR AN APPARATUS FOR PURIFYING EXHAUST GAS

A filter for an exhaust gas purifying device having a low density part is provided to improve thermal conductivity and to prevent crack or damage by forming the filter with a metal media filter member. A filter(20) for an exhaust gas purifying device having a low density part comprises a metal fiber mat(1'), and a metal fiber media filter member(10'). The metal fiber mat is made of a plurality of metal fibers which are in one direction. The metal fiber has a 30~95% of porosity. The metal fiber media filter member has a supporting member(2') which is patched on an upper surface and on a lower surface of the metal fiber mat. The supporting member of the metal fiber media filter member has 5~95% of porosity. The low density part is formed within Œ40 longitudinal direction range from the filter.
