DISPLAY SUBSTRATE AND DISPLAY APPARATUS HAVING THE SAME

A display substrate and a display device having the display substrate are provided to form a conductive over-coating film on a base substrate including a light-shielding pattern and a color filter to simplify a manufacturing process, reduce the manufacturing cost and improve the reliability of the manufacturing process. A display device(500) includes an array substrate(100) and a counter substrate(200). The array substrate includes a pixel electrode(PE1) formed on an array layer in a pixel region. The counter substrate is combined with the array substrate and a liquid crystal layer(300) is interposed between the array substrate and the counter substrate. The counter substrate includes a light-shielding pattern(BM) for defining the pixel region, a color filter(CF) formed on the pixel region and a conductive over-coating film(220) for applying a common voltage to the light-shielding pattern and the color filter.
